In this latest collaboration with Yu Nagaba, ASICS introduces the GELSAGA™ shoe, together with three apparel items, and a cap under the ASICSTIGER™ brand. These items were launched to mark the one-year anniversary of the opening of the ASICSTIGER Shibuya store, and will be available from March 20th globally.

The concept of this collaboration is about the love a boy has for his girlfriend. The featured artwork for the items are a boy’s photographs of his girlfriend taken on the streets of Shibuya and Shinjuku. The shoe model is based on the GELSAGA™ running shoe archetype introduced in 1991. The upper uses natural birch-colored leather, and Nagaba’s illustrations are featured on the back counter, outsole, and socklining. Shibuya and Tokyo, written in Nagaba’s handwriting in Japanese, is printed on the tips of the shoelaces. The shoe design is simple but features many details, for example, reflective prints of the shoe logo and artwork.

The apparel items include three t-shirt designs printed on a cotton-blend white fabric. The graphics are of a girl drawn with simplicity, and yet is rich with unique features.

For the cap, an illustration of a girl is embroidered on the front, and on the underside of the cap bill is, ASICSTIGER is discreetly printed in Nagaba’s own handwriting. The cap has a tape size adjustor.
